Community Ministries
Amazing Grace Camp: Supports Families in which a parent experiences incarceration, with summer camp and monthly events.
Cape Cod Council of Churches: Food support, Foster Family support, Hospital Chaplaincy and A Baby Center work.
Christmas Fair on Old Main: A parish wide effort on the second Saturday of November each year, that requires several captains of different areas (Art Gallery, Bake Table, Lunch service, Children’s Room, Grandma’s Attic, Craft Table, Basket Raffle, Silent Auction)
Cookie Stroll: Hospitality for “Strollers” on the second Saturday of Dec. during the South Yarmouth Library fundraiser.
Dennis Yarmouth Ecumenical Council to prevent Homelessness (DYECH): Sales of grocery and gift cards after Sunday services in order to give a percentage of sales to Housing Assistance Corporation.
Episcopal Relief & Development: Support efforts toward relief after natural disasters and improvement of human conditions world-wide.
Food Basket: Deliver food to Hands of Hope Food Pantry in Harwich.
Habitat for Humanity: Support Cape Cod Habitat with fundraisers and work days.
Heifer Project: Collect Quarters (and other coins and bills) to choose animals to give through Heifer.
Paper Pantry/Takeaway Meal: Monthly offering of food and hygiene supplies to neighbors in need. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1-3 pm in Nelson Hall, our parish offers a meal-to-go, along with paper products and toiletries for anyone who wishes. A public health nurse is present and often members from other community service groups make themselves available.
Thrift Shop: Open Thursdays and Saturdays 10-2. We receive, prepare, price and sell clothing and household items at low cost to all in our community. We also hold monthly “Annex Sales” throughout the warmer months.

Bible Study: Our Rector leads a group on Sundays at 9:00 am in the March Room.
Coffee with God: A monthly gathering for scripture study and mutual reflection and sharing.
Education for Ministry: A course in Hebrew Scripture, Greek Scripture, Church History and Theology. Meets once a week over a four year period. Short courses are recently available as well.
Friday Book Group: A weekly book group that meets at 10 am to share in all kinds of fiction and non-fiction as the group chooses.
Wednesday Book Group: A weekly book group that meets at 9 am to share in religious and theological books.
Wednesday Spiritual Practices: A weekly gathering for prayer and sharing about how God is working through our prayer Lives.

Acolytes: Serve at the altar during worship services
Altar Guild: Prepare for the Altar for Holy Eucharist and other worship throughout the year.
Art Exhibits: Parishioners and guests have shown their artwork in our Common Room and Sanctuary during different seasonal shows.
Buildings & Grounds: Care for the physical property of the parish which includes 3 buildings on 5 acres.
Choir: Sings at Sunday 10 am worship from after Labor Day through Pentecost. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings.
Coffee Hosts: Prepare and clean up Sunday Coffee Hour after each service
Counters: Work with the Financial Administrator to count the Offerings, Thrift Shop revenue and other income of the parish on Sundays at 11 am.
Emergency Response Team: Update response needs and train ushers and leaders in safety protocols. Plan and hold annual drills.
Eucharistic Ministers: Lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People and serve the chalice at the altar during communion.
Eucharistic Visitors: Take communion to homebound parishioners, and those in the hospital and nursing facilities.
Flower Committee: Prepare flower arrangements for Sunday worship and other occasions.
Fundraisers: Plan and recruit participants for fundraising activities throughout the year.
Greeters: Welcome people at Sunday services, keep track of visitors, guests, and people church shopping and communicate that with Rector and Newcomer Ministry.
Healing Prayer Team: Offer prayers for healing in the Kimber Chapel during communion.
Lectors: Prepare diligently to proclaim the Holy Word of God in worship on Sundays and other worship throughout the year.
Newcomer Ministry: Invite, Welcome, and Connect with newcomers at St. David’s through regular events and intentional calls and correspondence.
Prayer Group: Commit to pray daily for all on our prayer list and others who request prayer.
Scholarship Committee: Meet annually to discuss Scholarship Applications and discern allocation of funds.
Special Ministries: Meet quarterly to discuss requests for financial support of non-profits outside of St. David’s, and allocate available outreach funds.
Spiritual Formation & Environmental/Social Justice: Meet monthly to plan educational and fellowship events for parish throughout the year.
Stewardship: Promote tithing and planned giving throughout the year, and especially during the fall pledge campaign.
Ushers: Support the safety and order of worship services, especially in guiding and supporting folks with ambulatory challenges. Serve as captains during drills and emergencies.
